That town is a living, breathing entity.
A town trapped in An unending cycle of death and decay
And a National Geographic photojournalist unlucky enough to document it. Or did it lure her here?
Lea Thompson thought this would be a nice break, a vacation, though she wouldn’t let herself call it that. Or a scoop. Maybe both. A mysterious phone call telling her a man she didn’t know had left his entire estate to her. Regardless if this was a scam, she could use the excuse to get out of the public eye. Especially after that public breakdown and her not-so-subtle firing—the loss of her dream job. Yeah, a vacation at the behest of some dead weirdo is just what she needs.
She found something much more… interesting than that.
Monsters lurking in the corners. Buildings abandoned as though in an instant. Fog so thick it chokes anything attempting to leave the town. Eerie messages addressed directly to her. Deadly, sadistic traps laid to catch… whom? Does it even matter? Endless deaths sending her reeling into consciousness—to the gradual mutilation of her body.
That’s only the surface layer.
